Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about connectivity, wireless and managed service.
Velocity Edge Fusion assesses, designs, deploys and manages connectivity, private wireless and edge services around the applications an operation depends on. These answers explain how that works and what is not assumed.
Do we need private 5G?
Not necessarily. The assessment should compare the application and site requirements against existing infrastructure, Wi-Fi, wired access, public cellular, and private wireless options.
Can we begin with one site or application?
Discovery defines an appropriately bounded starting engagement, including scope, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and the decision to expand.
Who should request an assessment?
Teams that want to understand their applications, sites and options before committing to a wider deployment or managed service.
What do I receive?
The assessment documents priorities, current-state requirements, risks and options, and a scoped next step. The exact format is agreed for each engagement.
Does the assessment include a site survey or pilot?
No. Detailed engineering, site surveys, pilots and implementation are scoped separately where required.
How long does it take?
Timing depends on the number of sites, applications and the information available. It is confirmed when the scope is agreed.
What are the commercial terms?
Scope, commercial terms and responsibilities are confirmed with you before work begins.
What does managed service include?
Monitoring, response, changes, reporting, and lifecycle responsibilities are documented in the agreement. Field dispatch, application support, and security response are not assumed to be included.
Is 24/7 support included?
Support windows, acknowledgment commitments, escalation paths, and response responsibilities are defined in the agreement.
Does a managed network guarantee every application?
No. Application dependencies, equipment behavior, access requirements, and ownership must be documented. Validation covers the agreed scope.
Are carrier charges included?
The proposal identifies the treatment of connectivity, equipment, software, management, usage allowances, overages, and optional services.
Who handles a service issue?
The agreement defines monitoring, communication, escalation, provider coordination and any field-service responsibilities.
How do you validate the solution?
The engagement defines tests for approved devices, coverage, application behavior, recovery, and operational handover where relevant.
Will private 5G replace our Wi-Fi?
Not automatically. The design depends on the applications, compatible devices and operating conditions.
Can private wireless coexist with Wi-Fi?
Evaluate the layers together and retain what fits the use case.
Can indoor cellular coverage be improved?
Assess it separately from private wireless, including relevant carrier and installation requirements.
Does connectivity guarantee compliance?
No blanket compliance guarantee is made. Specific requirements, controls, evidence, and shared responsibilities must be assessed.
Does the service provide emergency communications?
No such capability is assumed. Safety-critical requirements require separate qualification and approval.
Will connectivity guarantee academic or safety outcomes?
No. Define technical and service objectives without overstating broader institutional results.
Industries and sites
Questions from retail, logistics, construction and education teams.
Explore IndustriesWill the backup support our POS?
That must be validated with the actual application, configuration and provider dependencies.
Can one design cover the warehouse and yard?
The assessment determines whether one approach or a combination is appropriate. Complete coverage is not assumed before qualification.
Can you connect a site before a permanent circuit arrives?
The assessment reviews available options, site readiness and application requirements. Availability, equipment and deployment scope must be confirmed before a timeline is agreed.
Can you connect school buses?
Supported equipment, routes, carrier coverage, access policies and application scope require assessment.
